Description

The Opportunist - Passionate and action-oriented

Overview

The SEE personality type is characterized by a distinctive cognitive function stack that shapes their behavior and thought processes. In the Ego block, their dominant function is Extraverted Sensing (Se), which drives their constant focus on seizing opportunities, taking action, and having a strong impact on their environment. SEEs are highly tactical, alert, and quick-minded individuals who can swiftly move from noticing a problem or opportunity to acting upon it. They are competitive and want to be first to capitalize on opportunities. Supporting their Se is Introverted Feeling (Fi), which allows SEEs to quickly read character and form personal judgments about others. They are adept at building strategic relationships, always maintaining a dominant position while being protective of those they trust. This combination makes SEEs natural leaders and opportunists, always seeking to advance their personal achievements and maintain their autonomy.

Super-Ego Block

In the Super-ego block, SEEs have Extraverted Thinking (Te) as their role function and Introverted Intuition (Ni) as their vulnerable function. Te manifests as having rigid and unchangeable methods of action and work. They can become irritated by people who do not follow these actions as they want. SEEs are constantly on the move, very active individuals who work hard and take on any job, refusing to distinguish between interesting and uninteresting work. However, they struggle with Ni, being insecure about the course of time and events. They often make a fuss about having little time to do things and try to cram as many activities as possible into the shortest amount of time. They lack the capacity for introspection and struggle to adapt to the flow of time or use their time effectively.

Super-Id Block

The Super-id block contains Introverted Thinking (Ti) as the suggestive function and Extraverted Intuition (Ne) as the mobilizing function. SEEs struggle with maintaining their position in a system by themselves and unconsciously require external reinforcement. They may worry about their abilities and knowledge not being seen as good enough. While they remain open to new ideas and perspectives to a certain degree, they ultimately seek access to deeper meaning rather than just having many different possibilities presented to them.

Id Block

In the Id block, SEEs have Introverted Sensing (Si) as the ignoring function and Extraverted Feeling (Fe) as the demonstrative function. With Si ignoring, SEEs adapt to the current situation, going with the flow and enjoying whatever comes their way. They can be hedonistic and empathetic with people's sensations, but may be insensitive to how people truly feel. With Fe demonstrative, SEEs gladly express their emotions and are not shy about it. They can be very charismatic and even charming, capable of expressing a range of emotions from melancholy to excitement without being able to control it.

Subtypes

SEEs with SX8 tendencies channel their Se-Fi energy into intense, passionate relationships and a desire for deep, consuming connections. They approach relationships with a 'conquer or be conquered' mentality, seeking to dominate while also longing for a partner strong enough to match their intensity. These SEEs often exude a powerful sexual charisma and aren't afraid to use their sexuality as a form of power. They have a complex relationship with vulnerability, craving deep, intimate connections while also fearing being controlled or betrayed. This can lead to a pattern of testing their partners, pushing boundaries to ensure their partner is strong enough to handle their intensity. SX8 SEEs can be incredibly passionate and loyal partners, capable of a depth of intimacy that few other types can match. However, their relationships are often marked by power struggles and can be tumultuous. They may swing between periods of intense closeness and dramatic conflicts. One of their key challenges is moderating their intensity, as they may struggle with jealousy, possessiveness, and a tendency to overwhelm their partners with the force of their personality and desires.

SEEs with SO8 tendencies focus their Se-Fi energy on defending the weak and challenging societal norms they perceive as unjust. They embody a paradoxical desire to be part of a group while simultaneously rebelling against societal norms, often described as 'social antisocial'. These SEEs form strong bonds with those they see as allies, often creating a tight-knit group that they fiercely protect. They have a powerful sense of justice and often position themselves as defenders of the oppressed, sometimes engaging in 'vigilante vengeance' on behalf of those they perceive as victims. This protective instinct often stems from early experiences of defending a parent (often the mother) against perceived threats or injustices. SO8 SEEs can be incredibly charismatic and influential within their chosen social circles, often becoming natural leaders who rally others around causes they believe in. They may be seen as 'simply a good person' who 'speaks forcefully and acts with a vehement sense of protection towards the victims of injustice'. One of their key challenges is balancing their protective instincts with respect for others' autonomy. Their desire to defend and lead can sometimes come across as controlling or overbearing.
