Description

The Analyst - Systematic and conceptual thinker

Overview

The LII personality type, also known as 'The Analyst', is characterized by a distinctive cognitive function stack that shapes their behavior and thought processes. In the Ego block, their dominant function is Introverted Thinking (Ti), which drives their constant focus on creating and analyzing complex systems and theories. They are deeply systematic, categorical, and detail-oriented in their approach to understanding the world. This is supported by their auxiliary function, Extraverted Intuition (Ne), which allows them to explore different possibilities and make unique connections between concepts.

Super-Ego Block

In the Super-ego block, LIIs have Introverted Feeling (Fi) as their role function and Extraverted Sensing (Se) as their vulnerable function. They may struggle with personal value judgments and can be quite passive in physical environments, preferring to solve disputes rationally and logically rather than through force or confrontation.

Super-Id Block

The Super-id block contains Extraverted Feeling (Fe) as the suggestive function and Introverted Sensing (Si) as the mobilizing function. LIIs often seek emotional expression and connection from others, and may feel insecure about their ability to navigate social situations. They also aspire to be more consistent in taking care of their physical needs and environment.

Id Block

In the Id block, LIIs have Extraverted Thinking (Te) as the ignoring function and Introverted Intuition (Ni) as the demonstrative function. While capable of pragmatic thinking, they prefer to focus on theoretical consistency rather than practical application. They are aware of long-term trends and developments but don't prioritize this perspective in their analysis.

Subtypes

LIIs with SO5 tendencies channel their Ti-Ne energy into a quest for ultimate knowledge and understanding of the world. They have a strong 'need for the essential, the sublime, instead of the need for what there is.' These LIIs often seek out 'super-ideals' and align themselves with people who share their intellectual values and interests. They may develop a strong 'passion for knowledge' and become experts in specialized fields, seeing knowledge as a way to connect to something greater than themselves. However, this focus on knowledge can sometimes serve as a substitute for genuine emotional connections or practical engagement with the world.

Keywords: intellectual, idealistic, knowledge-seeking, elitist, abstract-thinking, socially detached, meaning-seeking, expert-oriented, spiritually inclined, emotionally bypassing, existentially anxious, information-gathering, superiority complex, socially awkward, purpose-driven

LIIs with SO6 tendencies focus their Ti-Ne energy on developing complex systems of rules or ideologies to govern their behavior and judge the actions of others. They often develop a 'Prussian character' marked by rigidity, formality, and a strong sense of duty. These LIIs approach life with the 'mind of a legislator,' seeking to clearly define 'who are the good guys and who are the bad guys' in any given situation. They may become dogmatic or fanatical in their beliefs, clinging to their chosen ideology as a defense against uncertainty and anxiety. However, they also harbor a deep-seated fear of being controlled or oppressed, which can lead to a pattern of rebellion against certain authorities while simultaneously seeking out new sources of guidance and structure.

Keywords: dutiful, rigid, ideological, rule-oriented, anxious, intellectual, authority-conscious, rebellious, dogmatic, indecisive, socially aware, conformist, skeptical, security-seeking, certainty-craving
